Tenfold Dungeon... So close!
over 3 years ago – Fri, Oct 30, 2020 at 08:13:16 PM

Good afternoon dungeoneers!

The first mass production sample of TFD has arrived to the office. I have not dared to open them yet as I need to fnd the right time to do that and pottentially video it all. A lot of people are asking me for review copies and samples and unfortunately I cannot please any of them until you have yours! However, videos and pictures are a must.

The first thing I noticed is that the double-shrink wrap really work and has certinly helped in the transit. Remember that the most exposed and delicate part of the TFD is the external large boxes (Lid and Lid) and the condition after shipment was one of my concerns. Well, judge by the pictures, the condition was pristine!

The 'Five Amigos'

Remember, we have included a set of high quality vinyl corner stickers for you to use as soon as you receive yours. That will be the external boxes armour! don't let them go to battle without them.

The boxes are shrink wrap inside the sleeve and again shrink wrapped with a thicker film on the outside.

Finally, the first picture of the actual clips (of which I received an additional sample). Remember we asked to elongate the door clip to be able to hold both short doors (for corridors) and regular doors. All there and perfectly transparent ;-)

Clips and stickers... transparent galore!

Now the Logistics

The mass production has now officially finished (bang on time) and all distributors (which will be shipping your copies before retail) will be either collecting their cargos from China or preparing the paperwork and getting ready to give the green light for shipment. Canada will be serviced by Universal Distribution; New Zealand, Australia and the Assia-Pacific pledges will be serviced by Let's Play Games; pledges from Mainland Europe will be distributed by Cosmic Group; and UK and Ireland by OURSELVES!! We are finalising some bits and bops for US which will be tended by Golden Distribution from California. All cargos will go straight to the distro hubs directly from China which in some cases will make up for a good 2-3 weeks!

I must say it has been an incredible pleasure to work with these distributors that will also fulfil your pledges, and I hope with this, we had lay a bridge with those companies for the next campaigns too which will mean more precise, fast and accurate shipping (preps, times and costs)!

A Word of caution

As you know we all are experiencing a complicated and weird time, COVID has influenced everything and in most cases messed about EVERY aspect of live. Our shipments and plans seem finally lined up and all we need now is good weather at sea and a bit of luck to make the goods to a boat and wait for their arrival. Any type of quarantine required (should second wave of COVID finally happens as it looks like) should happen in transit, so delays are not expected at that end.

HOWEVER, we are in the middle of a pandemic, who knows the shape of our countries and COVID rules by the time the goods hit port.

I hope for a happy ending of this first wave, because the second wave and the future of TFD is even brighter than this one (we are preparing so many things TFD related! - including a TFD carrier bag to be ready by Wave 2!) plus more designs, the furniture, etc...

But above all, I hope you all keep safe and well so we can still be here for many years to come.

Best and thanks again for your patience and constant support!

over 3 years ago – Tue, Oct 20, 2020 at 12:04:48 AM

Good afternoon Dungeoneers;

This is the begining of the end for this fantastic journey. TFD has undoubtedly become a desired and interesting product that hopefully, thanks to the efforts of all of us (our work and your patience and support) we will be able to continue supporting from this point on.

We have received notice from the manufacturer confirming that TFD will be finished in 5 days and that the final production sample of all the sets are on their way to Room 17 Games by air as we speak (this is a formality after all the samples and reviews done and for us signifies the productions cycle is close to its end).

We have notified this to all the distributors that will fulfill your pledges locally and now we are preparing the updated data to pass onto them (your email addresses, telephones, complete address, etc). This is the opportunity for you all to let us know if any changes are to be done in the details you have on Backerkit (please check and let us know in the next 5 days).

Locking Addresses within 48h

After publishing this Update, we will Lock Addresses with final Notice to all of you this will be effective within 48h. Passed that time, mo further changes on the addresses will be accepted by BackerKit.

If you have any problem accessing or modifying the details on Backerkit, please email us asap to:

[email protected]

Please notice this is the time when you MUST check your details, change and POs for a proper address (POs are not allowed and the parcels will be returned to us).

We are almost there! Let's hope for a smooth end of WAVE 1.

Manufacturing Update
over 3 years ago – Mon, Oct 12, 2020 at 04:17:08 AM

Good afternoon dungeoneers.

I'm very pleased to say that the manufacturing process is going smooth and China confirms that as planned, the 5 sets will be finished by the end of October. Then shipping to UK/Europe hubs (+6 to 8 weeks) US/Canada (+4-6 weeks) and collection for Australia and NZ (and Far East) and Russia.

At the momewnt there is not more to do at this end. I'm very pleased that we could add those corner stickers and double shrink wrapped and from here, everything looks going perfect!

Once the consignments arrive, we will communicate with each one of you to confirm mail addresses and shipment.

And... that is all really!

These pictures were received on Friday and by Monday, all the lamibation should be finished.

The cardboard stock!

Samples and reviews
over 3 years ago – Wed, Sep 23, 2020 at 07:33:12 PM

Good afternoon dungeoneers!

A lot of Tenfold Dungeon happening today after receiving the second batch of production samples from our manufacturer. Also, interesting conversations with distributors, and specially important with Golden Distribution in the US trying to find the best ways around the insane increase on shipment costs for anything China to US (thanks to certain virus and certain politicians).

Tenfold Samples Review

We have received one of each of the TFD sets and here is what we have observed and discuss with the manufacturer.

I played around with clips and the TFD The Temple just to explore possibilities of clips linking corridor to corridor, corridors to rooms, rooms to rooms. Also how do they look with upside down rooms, interior rooms and other... I'm sure you will come up with more options. The result is that in general, the clips work for it s purpose and in fact, they look better than the plastic doors once set in the room (the design and illustration was made to match perfectly). The grip is strong and they simply... do the job.

On the punchboard, there are some "shorter" doors to link corridors (remember these are designed shorter than the rooms), so the clip can actually work there too. What we have found is that corridor to room, the clip only grips the room (higher wall) leaving the corridor loose. I have discussed this with the manufacturer and they have now re-check the design and have increased the length of the internal clip so it works three ways: room-room (OK), corridor-corridor (OK) and corridor-room (OK!)

I have also requested reducing the clamp space by some microns to achieve a firmer grip on the cardboard while removing the runners to avoid pressure marks on the cardboard. Finally, I have asked to reduce the length of the door clip by 5mm just to make it look less chunky.

The corner clips are a fantastic addition to reinforce the corners of the more exposed boxes (external boxes mainly. and to use them as flat bases to pile up the boxes. In that regards, the design and purpose work!

A reminder: all these clips will be transparent!

By increasing the drop on the internal clamp, the door panel now grips stronger (=more clamp pressure) and it can grip both short and long doors!

Finally, we have added to each TFD box a set of transparent vinyl stickers (5x4cm) to protect the corners of the external boxes (the larger boxes)from the normal wear and tear they suffer by being exposed. Also, each TFD will come double shrink wrapped (inside, sleeve and outside) to make sure they all arrive in good condition to you. We will recommend that you use your corner stickers as soon as you receive the boxes to give them a long live!

Production proceed as planned and so far, no more news on that front. These past weeks, we have been focusing on the last bits of quality control and checking printing plates, etc. Finger crossed for the last stretch!!

A Quick One on Fulfilment
almost 4 years ago – Mon, Aug 17, 2020 at 08:14:14 AM

Good afternoon everyone.

I just wanted to let you know about how things are shaping from the manufacturing front to the fulfilment. As you know, I have been in conversations with some of the most important distributors in the world and I can now confirm that Tenfold Dungeon will see its way to the stores BIG TIME!

What does this to do with you, you may say?  Well, alongside the distribution service (sales to retailers), I have managed to agree with most of them the fulfillment of your pledges. This means that shipments will leave from China to the distribution centres directly:

US will be looked after by Golden Distribution and they will cover the fulfillment of the Americas (mostly US and Canada) but also all pledges for Mexico and South America too.

Let's Play Games will distribute the product in Australia and New Zealand (and mostly Asia Pacific) and yes, you guessed it, they will send your orders locally too!!

Mainland Europe will be covered by several distributors (we are finalising agreements with Legion Distribution and Cosmic Group) who potentially will also help with the fulfilment in France, Benelux, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, etc...

Also onboard are some of the key divisions for Asmodee (NE and UK signed up) with which I'm also trying to agree on the fulfilment aspect.

Why Am I Doing this?

Simple! If the distributors also fulfil your pledges locally, the costs for reception, handling and shipment diminishes enormously beneffiting everyone! This also opens the door for re-orders, CS swiftness and many other advantages post-sale. Not to mention the saving in time!

Hopefully the channel will remain open for Wave 2 making things even easier!

Manufacturing

On the manufacturing front, I have been assured that the production will be slotted in with time so all pledges will hit their corresponding hubs (as explained above) no later than the 10th of December!! So you should be enjoying your TFD boxes before Christmas.

After this long period of absolute focus on the TFD Wave 1, I will be moving onto finalising the management to start preparing Wave 2 (all the plastics and all the fizz).

Thanks
