Village Attacks + Portcullis, Doors and More!
almost 6 years ago – Thu, Feb 28, 2019 at 05:48:44 PM

Hello Dungeoneers!

With all the fantastic engagements we're having in the comments section and being in view of the end of the campaign, I thought it would be good to give you all an update/heads up on where are we planning to go next.

First of all, as some of you know, we are working with Grimlord Games on making a Tenfold Dungeon System Village Attacks for them. We are still defining what, how, and when, but they liked the TFD system and we like the Grimlord Games people... so let's see what the future brings!

 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/grimlordgames/village-attacks/posts/2429878

As part of this fantastic network of friends in the tabletop industry, the good people at Drawlab Ent. are running a great KS campaign right now for fantasy coins. These guys already have a great range of coins and other RPG components that we thought would go perfect with you lot when playing on Tenfdold Dungeon. Check them out:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/drawlab/legendary-metal-coins-season-4?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=coins

They even have an alien coin set for our Sci-fi Facility backers!

Now to the Dungeons!

We've just broken through the Portcullis (not literally,) so those panel designs are now available with all double doors.

This a great addition to the Castle and Dungeons & Sewers particularly, allowing GMs to add portcullis gates to certain rooms for an all-the-more imposing look!

Our next Stretch Goal is right around the corner now, with a wooden doorframe design available at 98k. This design is the perfect compliment to the Town set for example, or for certain interior doors in the Castle.

This doorframe will be an upgrade to the Town, but also available as an add-on for those looking to purchase wooden doorframes for their Castles, or perhaps even particularly luxurious sewers?

We'll have more information nearer the time, and perhaps even some details on tonight's livestream, which kicks off with Anders & Anka around 5pm GMT, or 12pm EST. Be sure to tune in for all the latest!

Another huge thank you to all of our fans for helping us to make our plans and ideas a reality - we couldn't do this without you! If you have any feedback or questions, as always - be sure to drop them in the comments, or save them for Anders and Anka to cover tonight.

Until then, a great big thank you, and happy dungeoneering to all!

The Dungeon Generator Unlocked!
almost 6 years ago – Tue, Feb 26, 2019 at 11:36:49 PM

Hey All!

An exciting development today, as we break through 80k and unlock the Dungeon Generator system. This is a huge addition to Tenfold Dungeon, and an add-on we're really enthused to show off. The core premise is a deck of cards for generating potentially endless dungeons, but the practicalities of such go a lot deeper.

The box of the dungeon generator is a Tenfold room in itself; this is something of a 'lobby' for players to start their randomly generated adventures in. The room holds the two decks - currently, there's one for 30 dungeon and passageway cards, 6 objective room cards, and another for 36 event room cards. There's a card for every Tenfold Dungeon room and corridor, minus the sci-fi set, which we don't imagine would see much use in a fantasy dungeon crawler. If we add more Tenfold Dungeon designs, we'll obviously add more cards. These decks fit in the Random Dungeon Generator box, which is 170mm x 120mm x 40mm.

Playing with the Dungeon Generator, players start the game in the room of the box. Then, GMs shuffle and draw from the dungeon deck to generate rooms procedurally as the party progresses through the dungeon. GMs can sort the deck by either the Tenfold sets they own, or keep all cards in if they own at least one of every Tenfold Design we end up producing. In addition to this, an event deck is also shuffled at the start of the game - this can be drawn from when players enter new rooms, and the event cards will display certain environmental hazards, changes or events taking place in each room. These will be primarily narrative, and largely system-free, meaning that all GMs have to do is add a game system and monsters of their choice to the mix, and they're good to go with a dungeon-crawling adventure that's impossible to predict!

We believe our Dungeon Generator could be a product in itself, but its synergy with the Tenfold Dungeon system was too good to pass up! A Dungeon Generator box will now be included with every All-In Pledge, or available to buy as an Add-On for £20.

We can't wait to get your thoughts on this, and see what kind of dungeons people end up generating with it further on down the line!

Our next stretch-goal now are the vac-form trays. These plastic inserts are designed to hold all of Tenfold Dungeon's components - doors, t-clips & torches - securely in place for transit, so they're not rattling around loose in your Tenfold boxes. It's a simple add-on, but no less valuable as a quality-of-life change to Tenfold Boxes.

Thanks to all of our fans for helping us get this far, and with just under a week to go now, we're beyond excited to see where this campaign will end up.

We'll see you all in the next update, but until then - happy dungeoning!

Furniture + Opening the (Double) Doors! + Upcoming Stretch Goals!
almost 6 years ago – Sat, Feb 23, 2019 at 08:25:11 PM

Another superb day of developments for Tenfold Dungeon!

The Furniture was unlocked the other day, meaning a set of that will now be included with all All-In Pledges, and will be available to buy as an Add-On for all other backers. We're still working on illustrating the exact images that'll go to print for the Furniture, so we only have renders in place for the time being. Rest assured, we'll be making the furniture to the exact same high standard of quality as the rest of Tenfold Dungeon, ensuring your dungeon delves always look exceptional, however you decide to decorate them,

We've also now surpassed the £72k Stretch Goal, and as such we're proud to announce the double doors! Anyone who's seen the Tenfold Dungeon Prototype may be familiar with this design. It's a much wider style of door which takes up a 2" space, and provides the perfect doorway for a grand entrance, boss room, or large hall. A double will replace one of the 12 standard doors in every Tenfold Set, so everyone ordering Dungeon Delver & above will get to make use of this stretch goal.

With 72K broken, we're well on our way to the next stretch goal of 80k for the Random Dungeon Generator Deck. That one's got us all hyped up around the office, and it's one we're really excited to share with you all.

The plan so far is for 72 cards, one for every Tenfold Dungeon Room. GMs will be able to take out any cards for rooms they don't own, and shuffle the deck. Drawing from the deck, GMs generate Tenfold Dungeons procedurally, meaning your adventures need never end! You just just need to add a game system of your choice, and you're off. We've plans to update this system with further expansions and additions in future stretch goals, and we think its a great way to get plenty of longevity out of your Tenfold Dungeons.

A work in progress card for the Castle's Hall room. The symbol in the corner denotes which Tenfold Set it belongs to, meaning you can sort your deck by the Tenfold sets you own!

That's all for today folks. It's been another great week for Tenfold, and we're excited to be going into the final ten days with such an enthusiastic and motivated fanbase. We're super excited to share more of the Dungeon Generator with you all in due time, and we can't wait to hear what you think of our Tenfold plans. We'll be updating the map and updating you on any further updates as they happen, so be sure to check back in on the page every now and again so you don't miss anything.

See you all in the Dungeons!

Livestreams, Locked Doors, and More! - Another HUGE update!
almost 6 years ago – Thu, Feb 21, 2019 at 11:52:43 PM

Good Afternoon All!

Another exciting day in the dungeons as we sail past £60k and unlock the the locked door assets for Tenfold Dungeon. This is a design to go on the reverse of the door panel inserts, allowing GMs, DMs and Storytellers to signify locked doors in their adventures.

These designs will go on the reverse of the door inserts, with every 12 doors getting six of one reverse, and six of the other.

As we pass these doors, we're also looking to the future. After much deliberation and your feedback, we're proud to announce we will be going ahead and taking inspiration from HeroQuest, with a punchboard of cardboard/plastic hybrid furniture! We're still concepting these designs at the moment, but here's what we've got for the time being;

Bookcase & Lectern - Design not final.

Assorted Furniture - Design not final.

More assorted furniture - Design not final.

Next up, something we'll be talking about in the Livestream tonight, is the Random Dungeon Generator Deck. This is a little side project we cooked up when brainstorming ways to play with Tenfold, and it gives even the most veteran dungeon crawlers ways to play with their Tenfold Dungeon sets.

We're trying out a range of designs and styles at the moment - Designs not final!
We're trying out a range of designs and styles at the moment - Designs not final!

The Random Dungeon Generator is an add-on to Tenfold Dungeon, which gives dungeoneers several decks of over 30 cards each, with which to procedurally generate dungeons. These cards are sorted into Room and Event decks, with several decks tailored to the Tenfold Dungeon styles. These can be used with just one dungeon, or mixed and matched for surrealist dungeons that  As players advance through your dungeons, GMs draw cards to determine the next room, and any special effects or events that may be happening in the next room. All you need to do is add minis, monsters and a game system of your choice - the Random Dungeon Deck will take care of the rest!

We'll have more on the Random Dungeon Generator as we approach it, but rest assured it's the next big step for Tenfold Dungeon's campaign, and we're super excited to hear what you all make of it.

That's about it for today's updates but stay tuned for tonight's Livestream at 5pm - Ricard and Anders will have more on the next 3 stretch goals, a rundown of the furniture add-on, and they'll also be answering any questions you might have on Tenfold Dungeon.

See you in the Dungeons!

More Stretch Goals and some News!
almost 6 years ago – Wed, Feb 20, 2019 at 04:58:43 PM

Fifth Stretch Goal Achieved

Good morning Dungeoneers!

Well, we open the office doors today to a new Stretch Goal smashed: The Dungeons & Sewers. With this, we are offering 72 completely different designs of rooms for you all to collect.

The Dungeons and Sewers are our final core Tenfold Dungeon set, and complete our first batch of Tenfold Dungeon designs. We’re flattered by how well-loved our designs are, and we’re hard at work concepting and theorising how best to take the future of Tenfold Dungeons to the next level. We've been thinking a lot about Tenfold Dungeons can be used in other games, and what kind of sets we'd like to offer in the future. As soon as we come to any decisions, you'll all be the first to know!

The Dungeons and Sewers set are complete with water-logged tunnels, hazardous sluice ways, cavernous cistern chambers, and rat-infested corridors. With the stairs unlocked, the Dungeons and Sewers make a great accompaniment for the Castle, providing a dingy lower level. Alternatively, the set could be used as a dirty underbelly to the Town. It’s a perfect set for providing your adventurers with a down and dirty environment, or a compact terrain bundle for some classic fantasy skirmish wargaming.

With this new set, the £210 All-In pledge becomes the best value for money bundle Room 17 Games have ever offered! Remember to not miss it out, because when this campaign finishes, the all-in bundle's going away - you won't be able to get that much stuff for that money!

Incredible creepy art in the Dungeons & Sewers by the hand of our very own Dai!
Incredible creepy art in the Dungeons & Sewers by the hand of our very own Dai!

These last few days have been a rollercoaster of activity at the office. We went to a lovely weekend con in Nottingham a few days after the campaign funded, and several Stretch Goals have been unlocked. Between all the activity at the office and the constant smashing of the stretch goals, we've barely been able to keep up!

But, we have been listening to you carefully and as we pointed out in yesterday's update, our campaign goals and journey map have been updated to make it easier to read, better for the backer, and more interesting to follow.

As you know, our aim is to get more backers to help us build this little range of themed box sets for two reasons:

  • It will help the campaign to achieve the SG we want to see.
  • This product is too good to be missed. Let it reach every corner so games can get to know it.

Fantasy Dungeon Generator (a word!)

To help with this, we are designing the Fantasy Dungeon Generator; a card system to create dungeon crawling adventures as you play. The FDG will include a card for each small and  medium room and corridor present in the sets unlocked (50 cards) plus 10 Objective cards (one for each large room) plus rules and tables in a booklet to explore and discover treasure and mysteries as you play your favourite dungeon crawling game! We will tell you more about this during our upcoming live stream and on the comments section if you ask ;-)

Stretch Goals and Social Stretch Goals

As you see, two main stretch goals (additions to the sets) have been unlocked: the Walls system and the Stairs.

These are one large punchboard each (with some plastic elements for assembly when required) of around 290x350mm that will be included on each complete set (i.e. not the Barebones/Skeleton Pledge set). We are aiming at a third punchboard which could as well be the 3D HeroQuest style scenery. Who knows what other things could be added to each set in the natural frenzy that the last days of a campaign bring!

We have also managed to unlock two Social Stretch Goals in the form of two new sets available (The Temple and the Village). We are planning a couple of new Social Stretch Goals, but this time aimed at encourage your backers and followers to mention us on the most relevant specialised groups in the different social media channels. Let's see how we do this. The Social Stretch Goals we have ready are:

  • 2x New Torch-Clip Designs and 2x extra clips per set (or Security module Clips)
  • Vinyl sticker sheets (organising with the manufacturer now)

Errata! Errata! Errata!

Finally, we have spotted an errata on the All-In Poster we created yesterday. As you all know, the Add On of the doors (which is included in the All In, of course) is of 6 complete doors and not 12. Sam is correcting this first thing today.

Other typos kindly pointed out by you have been corrected already, but please keep letting us know to ensure full clarity for everyone.

And thats all for now at the moment, but more and more Tenfold seems to be coming along!

See you in the Dungeons!
